The City of Joliet is an Illinois city located in Will County. With a population of about 147,000 people, Joliet is the 3rd largest city in the state of Illinois. Joliet was laid out in 1834, incorporated as a village in 1837 and reincorporated in 1852. The city was laid out by James B.
